Melissa Villa

Melissa, known to her F4 community as “Joy,” is a widow, mother, grandmother, and woman of deep faith whose life has been shaped by both profound hardship and God’s grace. From a childhood marked by addiction and trauma to teenage motherhood, marriage, financial hardship, complicated family relationships, and the devastating loss of her husband, Ruben, Melissa has walked through many valleys.

Through it all, her faith has remained a central part of her story. Today, Melissa shares openly about the struggles she has faced, the freedom she has found, and the ways she has experienced God’s mercy in both heartbreak and healing. Her testimony is ultimately one of hope—and of discovering that joy can exist even in the valley of the shadow of death.
